Masakazu Toyoda
Chairman & CEO, The Institute of Energy Economics – Japan

Masakazu Toyoda is the current Chairman and CEO of the Institute of Energy Economics which aims to carry on energy research from the national economy viewpoint to contribute to the development of the Japanese energy supply and industries, and to improve the people’s lives by analyzing energy problems and providing basic data, information and reports to formulate policies.  Mr. Toyoda also serves as a member of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), International Advisory Board; and Accenture Global Energy Board (GEB).

Mr. Toyoda has held respected positions with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), formerly known as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), such as Special Advisor, Secretary-General, Secretariat of Strategic Headquarters for Space Policy; Special Advisor of the Cabinet on Asian Economic; and Special Advisor to the Cabinet of Climate Change, Cabinet Secretariat.

Mr. Toyoda received his Master's degree in Public Affairs (MPA) from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Tokyo.
