Melissa Uhl joins the Energy Excelerator team after practicing commercial litigation, energy law, municipal and project finance, and business and real estate law at the law firm of Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing. Ms. Uhl has worked in public policy at the Hawaii State Legislature and in Washington DC for the Environmental Working Group where she helped the Government Affairs department with environmental health law strategy, analysis, and lobbying. Ms. Uhl also has a background in environmental and ecosystem services project management from the Natural Capital Project at Stanford University where she worked as The Nature Conservancy Science Fellow on international conservation and ecosystem services project analysis and strategy. During law school Ms. Uhl clerked externally for the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court and worked at the United Nations Development Program at the United Nations headquarters in New York on environmental and land use project analysis.

Ms. Uhl is published in law and environmental science and graduated from the William S. Richardson School of Law with an additional certificate in environmental law. She received her Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley in political and environmental science. She serves on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Women Lawyers and helps with operations for Women in Renewable Energy.
