Renewable Energy Program

PICHTR designed and constructed a Village Power Demonstration Training Facility located at Kahua Ranch on the Big Island of Hawaii consists of PV modules, battery storage, wind-turbine generators, power converter (inverter/controller) and diesel generator.  The integrated system, which was supported by funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, was designed for Pacific island nations, as well as in Asian and South American countries applications and is used to evaluate components as well as training potential users of similar systems.
